Passengers on the bow of a tour boat heading out to the small islands of Karimunjawa

Karimunjawa Tours & Tickets

Every boat, package and transfer worth booking for a Karimunjawa trip — compared, priced and bookable in a couple of taps.

Karimunjawa is a place where most things are still arranged in person, the evening before, in rupiah. That is part of its character — and it also means there is less to book online than for Bali or Yogyakarta.

We would rather be straight about it: GetYourGuide currently lists only a handful of experiences on the islands themselves — two day boats, a dinner and several multi-day packages — and some of those are new, with few or no reviews. What it does well is the journey: private cars to the Jepara harbour, transfers to Yogyakarta and Borobudur, and day tours in Semarang and Yogyakarta. Everything below is a real, live listing. Where reviews are thin, we say so.

Prices are indicative “from” amounts in US dollars and change with the season. Tap any card for the live price in your own currency.

Snorkelling & Island-Hopping Tour Karimunjawa (Private Tour)

The same full-day route as the shared boat, but the boat is yours. That means you can leave earlier, linger where the coral is best, skip a stop you do not want — the shark pool, for instance — and keep children or nervous swimmers close. Priced per group rather than per person.

  • Your own boat and crew for the day
  • Set the pace: longer snorkels, quieter islets
  • Barbecue lunch on an island and a sunset stop
Wooden boats moored in calm water at sunset at Karimunjawa’s old harbour Dining experience from $63 per group

Booking questions

Frequently asked questions

Should I book Karimunjawa tours in advance or on the island?

Both work. Island boats are easy to arrange locally a day ahead outside holidays. Booking online fixes the price, guarantees a place in busy weeks and gives you free cancellation on most listings. Transfers to and from Jepara are worth pre-booking, because they need to match your boat.

Why do some listings have so few reviews?

Because Karimunjawa is still a small market on international booking platforms. Several packages are new. We show GetYourGuide’s own ratings and review counts and leave the rating blank where there are none — read the inclusions and cancellation terms carefully on those.

What happens if the boat is cancelled by weather?

Sailings to and from the islands are cancelled when the sea is unsafe, most often between December and February. Check each listing’s cancellation terms, prefer options with free cancellation, and keep a buffer day in your plans.

Do packages include the national park fee and boat tickets?

It varies. Multi-day packages generally include the crossing and accommodation, but boat class, hotel standard and park fees differ — check the “includes” section of each listing.
