Accommodation in Karimunjawa is small-scale: family guesthouses and homestays, cottages built in the style of Javanese joglo houses, a handful of boutique hotels and a few resorts. There are no international chains. The main choice is between staying in Karimunjawa town, where the boats, the night market and the tour desks are, and staying out of town — on the coast, in the hills or on Kemujan — for space, views and silence.
A note on the listings below: they are real properties with Trip.com pages, and the scores are Trip.com’s. Many island hotels have only a few reviews there, so we show a score only where at least two exist, and say so where the evidence is thin. Book early for Indonesian holidays, and choose free cancellation where you can — boats do get cancelled.
